What is Rush?
Rush is mainly a formality of getting to know members and learning about our Fraternity’s activities and the benefits of joining. Rush takes place the first two weeks of the term. Applications are due Thursday night of week 2.
Who can Rush?
Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed professional business fraternity that accepts students of any major. Though many of our members are in the College of Business and Economics, the diversity of a chapter only strengthens it.
What is the Pledge Process like?
The pledge process for Alpha Kappa Psi is a fun experience but a challenging one. During weekly meetings pledges learn about memberships duties and all of the benefits of being a member of Alpha Kappa Psi. To succeed in the pledge process, pledges must pass quizzes of fraternity history and undergo Chapter Rituals. More importantly, as a pledge you get to bond with all of your future brothers before being initiated.
What are the costs of rushing?
A pledge fee will cover your materials, pledge pin and final exam. An initiation fee is required once the pledge process is completed. The initation fee covers your membership pin, certifcate and card ; subscription to the diary of Alpha Kappa Psi and all other benefits of being a brother of Alpha Kappa Psi. Once a member, we have semester dues of $150, which help to pay for professional events, brotherhood events, and a portion that goes to our national headquarters.
